Validity of the information:
Most of the information covers available data for the last three years up to
January 2007. In general, the last figure refers to 2005 or 2006. Population
and housing projections include the period up to 2008. To each new edition a
year is added containing new information, while the earliest year is
eliminated, therefore changes account for at least 33%. For
2007 edition the number of metropolitan zonez raised from
34 to
50 and it also includes information of the 2005 population account.
Possible uses :
To determine where to set up a business, branch offices and warehouses of every
kind, to ascertain the size of the markets, channels of distribution, the
necessary points of sale, sale forecasts, the required sales force, to plan
promotions and advertising, to carry out market research, etc.
Definition:
The metropolitan area is understood to mean a city that extends beyond its
limits and has spread to parts of neighboring townships with which it maintains
a direct, constant and intense business relationship. 50 metropolitan
areas are included.
