Sources: A large number of telephone directories, business chambers and associations, newspapers and magazines, annual reports, the Mexican Stock Exchange and direct surveys of each company carried out through mail, phone, fax and e-mail.

Validity of the information: The survey ended in December 2006. The rotation rate of executives is approximately 25% per year. In addition, changes in addresses, telephone and fax numbers are included, some companies disappear while others merge or are created. The amount of data given for each company depends on the willingness of each one of them to provide information, or else, on the possibility of obtaining it from other.

It is estimated that approximately 28% of companies with 100 or more employees according to the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) are included, which could be identified and from which information was obtained. Export assembly plants are not included.
